Master Elmer


One day a student came to Master Elmer.  He said:  "Master, I must leave the temple.  I have tried to reach enlightenment, but I cannot stop my mind.  I cannot be a monk if I cannot still my mind."

Master Elmer replied:  "It's that scwewy wabbit."

The student said:  "Yes!  My mind is like a rabbit, it won't stop hopping around.  But how can I stop it?"

Master Elmer replied:  "We must kiw the wabbit"

The student said:  "I know, but I can't kill it.  I've tried and tried, but it's always cleverer than me."

Master Elmer replied:  "You must be vewy vewy quiet."

At that moment, the student was enlightened.
